Managing Director and Executive Editor
Paolo acts as HardwareZone’s Managing Director and overall Executive Editor for both print (HWM) and online (www.hardwarezone.com.ph) publications. He is tasked with the overall growth of the company as well as ensuring the overall quality of HardwareZone’s publications and endeavours.
An avid technology enthusiast, marketer, and a graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University, Paolo started off as a Technical Support Specialist for one of the largest computer manufacturers in the world, which he then parlayed into Dial-a-Tech, a single proprietorship that focused on on-site technical support and upgrades as well as custom built systems.
An experienced veteran of almost seven years in the technology industry, Paolo has consistently delivered cutting-edge content, unique marketing initiatives, and extraordinary growth across all areas for all of HardwareZone’s readers, clients, partners, and shareholders.
Art Director, HWM Philippines
Despite his aspiration to be a priest way back in his formative days, Waldo has always been known for his flamboyant and sometimes eccentric ways of presenting things. He brought this lifestyle later on to the University of Santo Tomas, where he spent his collegiate years. He graduated with a degree in Fine Arts, Major in Advertising, with his senior thesis being hailed one of the most outstanding works for that year.
Waldo joined HardwareZone in 2005 and now functions as Art Director for HWM Philippines. Ever since then, he has infused a unique vision to the company’s Art department, as well as a fun-loving and comic attitude for the whole office.
Marketing and Events Manager
Mon orchestrates all marketing campaigns in the the HardwareZone network and ensures that all campaigns are on-strategy, effective and cost efficient. He also heads the Events and Web Development team of HardwareZone.
A graduate of Integrated Marketing and Communications at the University of Asia and the Pacific, Mon’s industry experience includes more than three years in mainstream advertising, four years in events and public relations, and two years in brand management.
Web Developer
Jonathan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Multimedia Internet and Computer Programming from the Informatics International College. Well-versed in PHP, MySql, XHTML, CSS, and AJAX, his favorite web app tool is WordPress and Code Igniter. Before working in HardwareZone, he was in the freelance industry, developing projects for Web Gallery Plus Plus, Best Photoshop Tutorials, and Alamin Natin.
Despite his towering frame, “Jon Con,” as he is best known in the office, is one of the youngest members of the HWZ family, keeping the company’s youthful vibe flowing with his creativity and spirit. His passion for creating beautiful and interactive websites for small and large businesses also extends to his personal hobbies.
Assistant Media Manager
Known as “Plong” to most of his officemates and friends, April is a loving father of two kids whom he regards as his most cherished possessions. Plong is a Bachelor of Electronics and Communications Engineering graduate from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), where he completed his studies in 2001. He’s already been in the publishing business for over five years and now heads the HardwareZone Sales team.
Plong has a great interest in music and photography. He also loves to play basketball during weekends – as long as he’s not babysitting his kids.
Office Manager and Circulation Manager
Joining the HardwareZone team fresh out of college in 2006, May is currently the Office Manager and Circulation Manager for HWZ. As Office Manager, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the company’s human resources department and provides administrative support to all employees of HWZ. As Circulation Manager, she takes care of the allocation and distribution of current and previous issues of HWM Philippines.
May used to be a big fan of games such as WarCraft, StarCraft, and Tomb Raider. She also enjoys surfing the Web, reading lifestyle magazines, shopping, and traveling.
Editorial Officer, HWM Philippines
A long-time curiosity and interest in computers and high-tech gadgetry in general brought this former NGO (non-government organization) staffer into the HardwareZone Philippines family. A graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University’s AB Development Studies class of 2005, Jase has been part of HWZ’s Editorial team since late 2006. He currently functions as Editorial Officer for HWM Philippines.
When not at work, expect to see Jase surfing for more “awesomeness” across the Internet, chatting up with his bevy of online buddies, checking on the current fates of the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the Phoenix Suns, and keeping close tabs on the latest on the comics and blockbuster movie scenes.
Staff Writer, HWM Philippines
Lionell finished his studies at New Era University in 2004, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. After graduation, he landed an inbound customer service post at SITEL, a multinational, outsourced customer support service firm, working as a technical service representative for Dell Computer Corporation. In due course, he transferred to another IT-related client, Cypress Semiconductor, as a customer service professional under its sampling department. Building on the learnings that he earned from the academe and his almost three-year professional experience with the aforesaid IT companies, Lionell joined HardwareZone in 2007 as Staff Writer for its print publication, HWM Philippines.
In his free time, he runs his small PC shop and reads various articles online. He also likes jogging on Sunday mornings.
